Mesencymal stromal cells; Immunomodulation, Regeneration, and Immunogenicity

Martin Hoogduijn is an associate professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, section Nephrology and Transplantation, at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. His research focuses on regenerative medicine in the field of organ transplantation, more precisely on cellular therapies for immunomodulation and tissue repair, with a special interest in mesenchymal stromal cells and kidney organoids. Current research projects include studies to the immunomodulatory potential of mesenchymal stem cell vesicles, the use of mesenchymal stem cells to repair transplant kidneys on machine perfusion and on the generation of kidney organoids from induced pluripotent stem cells.
