Charité and TU Berlin expand cooperation and form coordination office
In the future, we want to cooperate even more intensively and thematically in training and research. This is the unanimous result of the 2nd network meeting between the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Technische Universität Berlin, which took place on 17 February 2012 in the Institute Building South on the Campus Virchow-Klinikum of the Charité.
More than 70 scientists from the life sciences and natural sciences of the Charité and TU met under the title "Networking" to present the cooperation between the two institutions, expand it further and establish new contacts.
The Faculty Management of the Charité and the Vice Dean for Research, Prof. Christian Hagemeier, supported the meeting significantly and initiated the formation of a coordination office on the part of the Charité. Under the direction of Kay Raum, Professor at the Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies, there will be a central contact point for all cooperation with the TU in the future.
The meeting and in particular the format of three-minute "Speedlectures" as well as the subsequent topic-specific workshops inspired all participants, as the broad scientific spectrum of both institutions was presented in a condensed form and at the same time sufficient space was offered for discussion and individual discussions. The next network meeting of this form will take place in one year at the latest. In addition, thematically focused workshops will be organised at short and regular intervals for key topics such as imaging, movement and biotechnologies. The Imaging section will meet regularly every 2-3 months in the Old Lecture Hall of Radiology at the Campus Virchow-Klinikum of the Charité for further presentations and targeted project planning.
