First project afternoon

On November 18th we were happy to welcome our first guests from the kein Abseits! e.V. association.

Within the context of our Science Goes Social project we want to address children of Wedding and Reinickendorf and foster their interest in science and research as well as help them develop own ideas for their future.

We've been looking forward to the start of this project and where very happy to finally get to know the kids. At 4.00 pm we started our event by showing them the laps, where Melanie Lange explained the researcher's work and showed them how science effects someone's life. Afterwards the kids got an insights in histology and the differential blood-diagnosis. Besides the opportunity to examine samples under a microscope they could pipet and where invited to take part in a quiz about the human body.

We want to say thanks to everyone involved in preparing this great afternoon.

The project was organized by the BCRT, the BSRT and the JWi in cooperation with the kein Abseits! e.V. This event was the first in a row of upcoming meetings during next two years.

The association kein Abseits! e.V. can be proud of its successful development over the past five years. It has been given several awards and fundings for its progressing work and engagement in society.
