Expertise
Britt Wildemann is a biologist and received her PhD in neurobiology at the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 1999, she has been working in the field of musculoskeletal research. With her team she investigates the regeneration of the musculoskeletal system with the main focus on tendon pathologies, osseous regeneration and infection prophylaxis and treatment. Using in vitro studies of different cell types and different in vivo models, they continue to explore various approaches to influence the tendon and osseous healing and to treat infections.
Since June 2018, Britt Wildemann heads the Experimental Trauma Surgery Department at the University Hospital Jena. The research projects are based on the clinical problem and are developed in close collaboration with the clinical colleagues. The research areas include: osteoarthritis, tendinopathy, bone regeneration and infection.
