Using computer modeling techniques, we seek to understand the mechanical behavior of tissues and their adaptive and regenerative response to mechanical stimuli at the different time and length scales.

We explore the interaction between cells, their surrounding matrix, and biomaterials. We design micro-environments that provide specific mechanical, geometrical, and biochemical signals to support and control endogenous healing cascades.

We want to unterstand the cellurar self-organisation of fibroblasts, vascular precursors, immune cells and the mechanical (in)stability in the complex environment of bone tissue during fracture healing.

We use additive manufacturing (AM), a rapidly evolving technology that has the potential to produce personalised scaffolds for tissue engineering applications with unprecedented control over structural and functional design.
