The BSRT is a joint request of the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin emerged with the Freien Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin as part of the Excellence Initiative and is funded by federal and state governments.

This collaboration offers top class scientific training during the doctoral project. Requirements are a Master's or equivalent degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, veterinary medicine (for the Biology Track) or in chemistry, engineering or physics (for the Engineering Track).

The international PhD program of the BSRT offers outstanding interdisciplinary training and research opportunities for graduates of biolocial sciences, material and engineering sciences  who want to pursue a career in the field of Regenerative Medicine and aim at translating their scientific discoveries into clinical applications.

The international PhD program of the BSRT will be of particular interest to those wishing to look beyond pure research and who are aiming to translate their scientific discoveries into clinical applications. The PhD program covers a period of 3 years and is run in English so students from all over the world with a Master's, or an equivalent degree can join. Students admitted to the PhD program will be supported by stipends.
