Research projects of the group “Compromised Healing” aim to unravel alterations of local tissue responses during the initial phases of fracture repair that will eventually lead to the formation of bone non-union. In particular we want to identify metabolic and cellular differences in normal and biologically impaired bone healing and translate these findings in novel therapeutic concepts for the treatment of biologically compromised healing situations.
