Understanding of systemic and local mechanisms of fracture repair
While one of our focuses represents the understanding of systemic and local mechanisms governing fracture repair and bone regeneration, we are also interested in risk factors for delayed healing (osteoporosis, obesity) and posttraumatic complications (sepsis). Using translational approaches, we study animal models closely mimicking human disease in order to develop novel therapeutic strategies for affected patients.
